Heavy steering at low speed or a whining pump on a Freightliner, International, or bus can point to dirty fluid, and the Baldwin Power Steering Filter cleans that fluid. Contaminated fluid circulates through the pump and steering gear on every turn, so a fresh filter limits the wear particles those parts see. Changing the Baldwin BT9388 along with the steering fluid, instead of topping off old fluid, gives the new filter a clean start. Bleeding air from the system afterward, as the vehicle maker directs, helps the pump settle back to quiet operation.
