Why would a brake pedal feel inconsistent between light stops and hard stops, reacting differently each time despite no change in road conditions? The Bendix Foot Brake Valve is often the reason, since worn internal seals let metered pressure bleed unevenly between the front and rear circuits. Replacing a foot valve with worn internal seals restores consistent, proportional pedal feel regardless of how hard the pedal is pressed. Both brake circuits reconnect without modification, because the Bendix 286171N uses the same dual-circuit design and port layout as the original valve.
