Bendix Camshaft

A brake applying unevenly or grinding can point to a worn camshaft profile rather than the shoes themselves, calling for the Bendix Camshaft. The S-cam profile rotates against rollers on the shoes, spreading them apart as the cam turns, and a worn or pitted lobe creates inconsistent shoe travel even with a good slack adjuster. The Bendix 808068N is machined to the same cam profile and spline as the shaft it replaces, so the adjuster and rollers engage as designed. A fresh camshaft restores even shoe travel, so the brake no longer applies at a different rate than its neighbor.
