Squealing or grinding from a drum brake usually means the linings are worn through to the shoe table, and the Bendix Drum Brake Shoe Kit gives that axle new shoes. Metal-to-metal contact scores the drum quickly, so the drum may need replacing along with the shoes once grinding starts. Fitting new shoes early, at the wear indicator rather than at the first noise, protects the drums. Adjusting the slack adjusters after the Bendix K098125 reline brings pushrod stroke back within limits.
