Bendix Air Brake Quick Release Valve
The Bendix Air Brake Quick Release Valve speeds up brake release by venting air directly at the wheel end rather than routing it back through the entire system. When the driver lifts off the brake pedal, trapped air exits rapidly through the valve, allowing brake chambers to retract without delay. Faster air exhaust reduces drag and prepares the vehicle for the next brake application. A sluggish release valve can cause brakes to linger momentarily after pedal input changes.
