Bendix Air Brake Relay Valve
Local air supply to the chambers is the defining feature of the Bendix Air Brake Relay Valve, which draws on a nearby reservoir when the foot valve signals. Taking air from close by lets the Bendix K019662 apply and release the brakes on its axle almost as fast as those near the cab. Its internal seals last longest when the dryer keeps water and oil out of the system. A crisp exhaust burst when the pedal comes up shows the valve is venting properly.
