Direct caliper mounting is the defining feature of the Bendix Air Disc Brake Chamber, which bolts to the air disc brake caliper instead of an S-cam bracket. Because the chamber drives the caliper directly, its stroke and mounting must match the caliper on the axle. A leaking diaphragm reduces clamping force and can be heard as a hiss during brake application, so the Bendix K028022 restores full output on that wheel end. Checking for leaks with soapy water at the port and clamp ring confirms the new chamber is sealed before the truck goes back into service.
