Bendix Relay Valve
On a tandem-axle trailer, the Bendix Relay Valve lets the rear axle's brake chambers fill from a local reservoir instead of waiting on air routed all the way from the front. That local supply keeps both axles applying brakes at nearly the same moment, rather than the rear axle lagging while air travels the trailer's length. The Bendix 801620 mounts to the same reservoir and delivery ports the relay valve it replaces used, so the trailer's plumbing needs no changes. Both axles staying in step protects tires and brake linings from the uneven wear a lagging axle causes.
