Dayco Belt Tensioner

Automatic, spring-loaded and fitted with a flat 74 mm pulley, the Dayco Belt Tensioner keeps the serpentine drive tight as the belt ages. As the belt stretches and the engine speeds up and slows down, the arm moves in and out to hold the same pull on every rib. The Dayco 89935 is a heavy-duty, counter-clockwise unit with a 46.3 mm wide pulley, used on Mack and Volvo trucks. A weak arm lets the belt slap and squeal, and a worn bearing adds a growl, so replacing the assembly can quiet the whole drive.
