Automann Hood Lift Support
Volvo VN Gen 2 hoods stay open on their own thanks to the Automann Hood Lift Support, a gas-charged strut built for that platform. Internal gas pressure extends the rod as the hood tilts up, locking it in place without a manual prop rod. This same pressure holds steady even after repeated cycles of opening and closing throughout a truck's service life. Losing gas pressure over time would let a hood drift back down instead of staying propped. Extending to its full length, the Automann A95387 holds a hood open safely during service work.
