The Bendix Air Brake Camshaft is a replacement S-cam shaft for drum brake rebuilds where the cam head, splines, or journals have worn. Worn journals let the Bendix 811608N wobble in its bushings unless both are replaced together, so a rebuild should include new bushings and seals. Matching the length, hand, and spline count of the old shaft confirms the fit before installation. Greasing the new bushings until fresh grease appears completes the job.
