J&N Alternator
The J&N Alternator supplies high-output charging power for buses, coaches, and other heavy-duty electrical systems. When a transit vehicle is running HVAC, lighting, and additional onboard equipment together, the charging system needs a steady output to support battery condition and electrical demand. This 24-volt, 270-amp unit is a brushless replacement in the Delco Remy 50DN family and uses an external fan and external regulator. If a weaker or worn charging unit falls behind, vehicle electrical performance can suffer across the route. In that role, the J&N 400-12275 restores the charging capacity expected from this 50DN-style configuration, giving high-demand electrical systems the output they require under load.
