Stemco Gritguard Wheel Seal
The Stemco Grit Guard Wheel Seal is built for oil-lubricated hub assemblies where contamination control and spindle protection matter just as much as sealing oil inside the hub. Instead of relying on a single sealing lip, the Grit Guard design adds a hub-mounted deflector ring that spins with the wheel, redirecting dirt, water, and road spray away from the sealing area. This approach reduces direct contact at the spindle surface and limits the abrasive wear that often leads to grooving at the axle shoulder. By keeping contaminants away from both the seal lip and the spindle, the Stemco 308-0836 supports cleaner hub oil and more stable sealing performance over time. The result is a wheel seal designed to work with the hub, not against it, in demanding road conditions.
