The Horton Engine Cooling Fan Clutch controls fan engagement so the cooling fan works only as engine heat calls for more airflow. Rather than letting the fan pull air constantly, the clutch cycles fan drive in response to temperature demand. Traffic, idle time, steep grades, and heavy loads can all push heat higher than normal. During lighter operation, unnecessary fan drag can waste power and add noise that drivers notice right away.
