The Hendrickson Suspension Shock Absorber manages axle movement by controlling how quickly the suspension settles after compression. Its extended length is 13.00 inches, while its compressed length is 9.50 inches, matching the specified mounting dimensions. The HK190T and HK230 suspension models rely on accurate damping travel to maintain load balance across the axle. Once installed, hydraulic fluid flows through internal valving to slow sudden suspension motion. Afterwards, the vehicle returns to a settled ride height instead of continuing to bounce over uneven pavement. The Hendrickson S-21292 is designed for use with these suspension systems.
