Meritor Air Brake Chamber Assembly
At the brake actuator mount, the Meritor Air Brake Chamber Assembly turns air pressure into pushrod movement for drum brake operation. The chamber has a round metal housing with a sturdy undercarriage feel, made to sit near the slack adjuster and respond every time air enters the actuator. Its 2.5-inch stroke defines how far the rod travels as pressure acts on the diaphragm inside the chamber. Once installed, the chamber becomes the force source that starts the mechanical side of brake apply. In actuator replacement work, the Meritor C323276D30 fits the chamber position where air pressure becomes brake linkage movement.
