BENDIX 802701 Part Description
Manufacturer
Product Description
Tractor Protection Valve
Features & Benefits
- Blocks a ruptured trailer line from draining tractor air
- Shutoff threshold responds to a defined trailer supply pressure drop
- Applies the trailer spring brakes when supply pressure is lost
- Trailer supply isolation protects tractor reservoirs after line failure
Bendix Air Brake Towing Vehicle Protection Valve
Every time a tractor disconnects from a trailer, the Bendix Air Brake Towing Vehicle Protection Valve shuts off the trailer air supply and applies its spring brakes so it doesn't roll away. The Bendix 802701 closes at a set pressure drop, sealing the tractor side from a ruptured trailer line and preserving air in the tractor's own reservoirs. Without that shutoff, disconnecting the lines while the trailer still holds pressure would leave its brakes unset until pressure bled down. Automatic protection at disconnect keeps a disconnected trailer secured instead of relying on the driver to set it manually.
