Bendix Air Brake Reservoir Safety Valve
The Bendix Air Brake Reservoir Safety Valve releases air automatically if reservoir pressure climbs past a safe limit, protecting the tank from a governor or compressor that's failed to cut out. A spring holds the valve closed under normal pressure and opens it only once pressure exceeds the relief point, reseating once pressure returns to normal. Keeping a working safety valve on every reservoir backs up the governor in case it doesn't cut out when it should. The Bendix 800350 threads into the original reservoir port, protecting the tank without adding a new fitting.
