A water-cooled cylinder head on the Bendix Air Brake Compressor pulls heat away from the compression chamber using the engine's own coolant loop, which matters during continuous high-demand operation. The Bendix 5019320 connects to the engine's existing coolant lines using the same port locations the compressor it replaces used, so cooling capacity carries over unchanged. Without that coolant passage, repeated compression cycles would build heat faster than the surrounding air could dissipate it, shortening the life of the piston rings and valves. A properly connected coolant passage protects the compressor's internal components from the heat continuous operation generates.
