Bendix Air Brake Camshaft
On drum-braked trucks, the Bendix Air Brake Camshaft sits at the center of every stop, turning slack-adjuster rotation into shoe-spreading force. This right-hand shaft measures 10.87 inches in effective length and carries a 1.50-inch, 28-spline end for the slack adjuster. Worn cam heads and journals cause uneven shoe contact, longer pushrod stroke, and brakes that are harder to keep in adjustment. Fitting the Bendix K117591N during a brake overhaul gives new shoes and hardware a true cam to work against.
