Bendix Air Brake Spider and Pin Assembly
Anchor the brake shoes solidly to the axle by fitting the Bendix Air Brake Spider and Pin Assembly during an S-cam brake rebuild. The spider bolts to the axle flange and carries the anchor pins the shoes pivot on, so worn pin bores let the shoes shift under braking. Replacing the spider with new pins restores a firm pivot for the shoes. Torquing the Bendix 079935 mounting bolts to the axle maker's value keeps the assembly tight against the flange.
