Bendix Air Brake Relay Valve
The Bendix Air Brake Relay Valve is mounted near the axle it serves, feeding brake chambers from a local reservoir when the foot valve signals. That local supply means the Bendix 065125 can apply and release the brakes faster than a line running all the way from the cab. Different relay valves open at different control pressures, so matching the crack pressure of the original keeps braking balanced between axles. Mounting it with the exhaust port facing down helps keep water and debris out of the valve.
