Dayco Poly Rib Belt

A belt surface turned shiny and hard, without cracking yet, often means the Dayco Poly Rib Belt has glazed from years of normal pulley friction rather than physical damage. The Dayco 5080795 uses fresh rubber compound that grips pulleys the way a new belt should, restoring the friction a glazed surface has gradually polished away. Glazing happens gradually enough that a driver often doesn't notice reduced grip until a belt slips audibly under sudden load, like heavy air conditioning demand. Fresh rib surfaces grip consistently from the first mile instead of the reduced friction a glazed belt provides.
