A narrow-band sensor only reports rich or lean at one point, while this wideband design reports the actual ratio across a broad range, useful for tuning. The Bosch 17025 uses the LSU 4.9 sensing element with a D-shaped connector, a design many aftermarket wideband controllers are built to accept directly. Wideband feedback gives the controller an actual mixture reading instead of a simple rich-or-lean switch point.
