Red Dot A/C Expansion Valve
Pressure changes at the Red Dot A/C Expansion Valve as refrigerant moves toward the evaporator section of the HVAC system. The valve meters that flow so the amount entering the coil stays controlled rather than flooding the evaporator. As refrigerant passes through this point, the system shifts from the higher-pressure side toward the lower-pressure cooling stage. That change is what allows the evaporator to absorb heat from the air moving across it. Stable metering at this location is essential to how the cooling cycle operates. The Red Dot RD-5-6868-0 controls refrigerant feed as it enters the evaporator side of the A/C circuit.
