For right-side foundation brake service, the Meritor Air Brake Camshaft carries the cam action that moves brake shoes inside the drum assembly. It works through the slack adjuster connection, rotating as chamber force travels through the linkage. That rotation turns into shoe movement at the wheel end, making the camshaft a key mechanical piece in air brake actuation. Side-specific camshaft selection matters because the brake hardware must follow the correct direction and placement during assembly.
