Too much pressure reaching a component built for lower pressure can make it leak or wear early, and the Bendix Air Brake Pressure Reducing Valve limits that circuit. It sits between the supply and the protected device, so the device sees a steady reduced pressure whatever the main system runs at. Installing it with its supply and delivery ports oriented correctly is the key step. A gauge on the delivery side shows whether the Bendix 107154N is holding the reduced pressure it should.
