Inside the emissions control system, the Mack Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Level Sensor monitors the amount of DEF stored in the vehicle’s fluid tank. It installs within the DEF reservoir where it measures fluid level during engine operation. Its sensing element sends level data to the vehicle control system so the driver can track available DEF supply. This information allows the emissions system to operate with sufficient DEF available for exhaust treatment. Accurate DEF monitoring helps prevent emissions system interruptions caused by low fluid levels.
