Bendix Air Brake Governor
The Bendix Air Brake Governor tells the compressor when to load and unload, keeping system pressure between its cut-in and cut-out points. When reservoir pressure reaches cut-out, the Bendix 5004049 signals the compressor to stop pumping, then reloads it when pressure falls to cut-in. A governor that sticks can leave the compressor pumping constantly or let pressure fall too low. Watching the dash gauge through a full charge and drain cycle confirms the new governor is switching at the right pressures.
