Bendix ABS Modulator Valve
The Bendix ABS Modulator Valve controls air to one wheel's brake chamber under ABS controller command, holding or releasing pressure to stop that wheel from locking. The Bendix 801993 responds many times a second during a hard stop, which is why a failed one sets an ABS fault code. Reading the codes before replacement confirms which modulator has failed. Clearing the codes afterward and watching the ABS lamp during a test drive confirms the repair.
