Baldwin Engine Oil Filter
Oil pressure that dips at hot idle after a long drain interval can point to a loaded filter, and the Baldwin Engine Oil Filter is the lube spin-on that replaces it. A filter packed with debris restricts flow, and the bypass valve opens to keep oil moving, so unfiltered oil reaches the bearings until it is changed. Fitting a fresh filter with new oil rules out the filter as the cause of the pressure dip. If the reading stays low after the Baldwin B40050 goes in, the problem lies with the pump, sender, or bearings rather than filtration.
