American LaFrance® was a North American vehicle manufacturer specializing in fire engines, fire aerials, and other emergency vehicles and equipment. Founded in 1873, it was one of the oldest manufacturers of fire engine apparatus in the US, starting out with steam-powered, horse-drawn carts before transitioning to motorized vehicles in the early 20th century.
