The Meritor Driveline Stub Shaft forms the splined engagement section in an RPL35 midship driveline, creating the machined surface that the slip member works against as torque moves through the shaft. Its shape is more detailed than plain tubing, with a defined shoulder, spline area, and deflector feature serving different jobs in the rotating assembly. The spline section supplies the sliding mechanical grip, while the shoulder and machined surfaces help locate the part within the larger shaft build. During driveline rebuild work, this component can decide whether the slip section feels tight and controlled after assembly.
