Dayco Belt Tensioner Assembly
The Dayco Belt Tensioner Assembly uses an internal spring to hold constant pressure against the accessory belt, automatically taking up slack as the belt stretches over its service life. That constant-tension design keeps belt wrap consistent around every pulley without a technician manually adjusting tension at each service interval. The Dayco 89446 pivots on a sealed bearing that carries the spring load without developing the play a worn pivot eventually introduces. A tensioner holding correct pressure prevents the belt slip that shows up as squealing or charging problems under load.
