Rotating assemblies need a bearing element that can handle both radial and thrust forces, and the Timken Tapered Roller Bearing Cone is built for that load-sharing role. It works with a matching cup, using tapered rollers to carry force across hubs, shafts, gearboxes, and other mechanical assemblies. The cone includes the roller and cage portion of the bearing set, allowing rotation while distributing load across the contact surfaces. Additionally, tapered bearing design is valued where side force and rotation meet. When servicing a matched bearing set, the Timken 938 provides the cone half of the arrangement.
