This genuine Meritor automatic slack adjuster uses a 1.50-inch, 28-spline setup with a 5.50-inch arm for compatible drum brake applications. Its job is to help keep proper brake stroke as linings wear, which can improve consistency during routine air brake operation. When pushrod travel or adjustment hardware becomes unreliable, the Meritor R802446 addresses the adjustment link between the chamber and brake cam.
