ACDelco Spark Plug Heat Shield
Spark plug wires often run close to exhaust manifolds, where radiant heat can bake the insulation, and the ACDelco Spark Plug Heat Shield is the shield made to sit between the wire and that heat. The shield wraps around the wire boot or lead where it passes hot engine parts, blocking radiant heat so the insulation stays cooler. It does not carry voltage, so it is separate from the wire set and from the plug itself. The ACDelco 8006 protects the part of the ignition lead that sees the most heat, which helps the wire keep delivering spark.
