Cab warnings mean little unless the pressure switch reacts at the right point, and the Meritor Air Brake Low Air Pressure Switch monitors the air system around the 70 ± 5 psi range. The switch is normally closed at zero pressure, so the warning circuit has a defined starting condition before the system builds air. Unlike a valve or chamber, its work is electrical indication tied to pneumatic pressure on the driver-warning side of the brake system. Low-air diagnosis can move from gauges and wiring to the switch once the pressure behavior is known. In warning-circuit service, the Meritor RBE13241 sends pressure-state information into the brake warning system.
