Meritor Left-Hand Air Brake Camshaft
Left-side drum brake actuation depends on the camshaft turning in the correct wheel-end position, and the Meritor Left-Hand Air Brake Camshaft handles that movement inside the foundation brake. The slack adjuster rotates the shaft, then the cam profile pushes the shoes outward against the drum. Side orientation matters because the brake assembly has to match the direction and placement of the actuator hardware. At the left brake position, the Meritor 2210E7649 restores camshaft movement for the drum brake assembly.
