The Meritor Air Brake Chamber Bracket fits the brake-side mounting area where chamber angle, bracket length, and slack adjuster position all have to line up before the pushrod can move cleanly. Its 56-degree shape gives the bracket a specific stance on the axle, so this is not a generic piece of flat mounting steel. During brake work, a bent bracket can make a good chamber look like the problem because the actuator no longer points into the linkage correctly. The heavy winged profile also gives the chamber a firmer place to sit under repeated apply-and-release load. The Meritor B293299Q6257 returns the brake chamber to the mounting angle the linkage expects.
