The Meritor Drum Brake Shoe Kit provides the friction surface that slows and stops wheel rotation inside drum brake systems. It presses outward against the drum when the camshaft rotates during braking. Each shoe carries bonded friction lining that grips the drum surface under pressure. This contact converts rotational energy into heat, reducing wheel speed. Even pressure distribution across the drum depends on proper shoe alignment and contact. During braking events, the Meritor KSMA2124709E2 supplies the lined components that engage directly with the drum interior.
