The Meritor Drive Axle Oil Seal Sleeve gives the axle oil seal a cleaner running surface when the original contact area is grooved or worn. It targets the sealing surface itself, which is often why a fresh seal can still leak after installation. Renewing that surface helps protect axle lubricant from loss while reducing the chance of contamination reaching the wheel-end sealing area. The Meritor 1199T3166 makes the seal repair more complete by addressing the surface the seal depends on, not just the seal itself.
