Meritor Differential Drive Pinion Nut
The Meritor Differential Drive Pinion Nut secures the drive pinion gear on the threaded end of the differential shaft. Inside the axle housing, the pinion gear transfers torque from the driveshaft to the ring gear assembly. Holding the pinion firmly in position allows the differential gears and bearings to remain aligned during operation. The nut threads onto the shaft and clamps the associated components together within the axle assembly. Because differentials using an M45 × 1.5-6H thread specification require that fastening component, the Meritor 40X1233 fits that drivetrain configuration.
