Bendix Air Brake Spring Brake
The Bendix Air Brake Spring Brake applies and releases braking force by combining air pressure and mechanical spring action within a single unit. When air pressure is present, internal force allows the brake to disengage for normal vehicle movement. When air pressure is removed, stored spring force activates the braking mechanism automatically. This dual-action behavior allows the brake to function both as a service brake and a parking brake without driver intervention beyond air system control. The chamber reacts directly to air system conditions rather than pedal input. The Bendix K193949 supports controlled braking behavior as air pressure rises and falls within the brake system.
