Power enters the transfer case through the Meritor Transfer Case Input Shaft, making this component the starting point for internal drive movement inside the case. It receives rotation from the driveline side and carries that motion into the gear section. Input shaft service is different from output gear or housing repair because the work starts at the entry side of the transfer case. Shaft condition affects how torque feeds into the internal components before power divides or continues through the drivetrain.
